Bin Sizes
The range of available sizes to choose from are 2m3, 3m3, 3.5m3, 4.5m3 & 6m3.
An idea of bin weight capacity
- 2m3 at max weight = 300kg = 2 small trailers
- 3m3 at max weight = 500kg = 3 small trailers
- 3.5m3 at max weight = 600kg = 4 small trailers
- 4.5m3 at max weight = 800kg = 5 small trailers
- 6m3 at max weight = 1200kg = 7 small trailers
What size bin is best for the job?
Use our estimates below as a guide:
- Bathroom renovation - 3 to 4.5 cubic metres
- Kitchen renovation – 4.5 cubic metres
- Moving house (small clean-up) - 2 to 3 cubic metres
- Moving house (large clean-up) – 4.6 to 6 cubic metres
- Deceased estate - 12 to 15 cubic metres.
- Excavation project - multiply length * width * depth to get the volume excavated then multiply again by 1.3 to allow for packing inefficiency. (Note: soil tends to weigh in order of 1.5 tonnes per cubic metre.)
If in doubt, it's often cheaper to order a larger size as this reduces the risk of needing a second bin. Also keep in mind the size of the area where you will put the bin and the width of our truck relative to your driveway.
