Bookings and Deliveries
How long can I have the bin for?
Our standard hire period is 3 days. If you require a longer hire period, each additional day is $12.00
Can I book on the day of delivery?
In many cases, you can book on the same day as long as you call to confirm driver and bin availability.
Can I have a guaranteed delivery time?
We do not guarantee delivery times unless prearranged and agreed to. This is because a truck will deliver bins in a manner which will minimise distance and time. If you need to use the bin first thing in the morning, we recommend you organise to have the bin delivered the day before.
What if no one is home when the bin is delivered?
Your'e welcome to provide detailed instructions for bin placement when ordering. Please remember to think about any obstacles that may restrict the truck's access such as power lines, phone lines, tree branches etc.
What happens if the bin is picked up and it wasn't full yet?
When you hire a bin it will be collected on the 3rd day unless agreed to otherwise. If the driver is turned away on arrival, the customer will be responsible for additional bin hire days and additional trips.
What happens if the bin is turned away on delivery or cannot be placed?
If the bin cannot be delivered for any reason, other than the fault of Beesafe Bins, the customer will be liable for any fees incurred.
Overloading the bin
To what level can I fill a bin?
Please avoid extra costs by ensuring the bins are NEVER loaded above the rim.
It is illegal to transport an overfilled bin and drivers are subject to heavy fines and demerit points if caught doing so. If a bin is overfilled you will need to remove the excess material and/or hire an additional bin. You will be charged for any additional charges including rental, labour costs and additional transport costs if it becomes necessary for us to unload the excess.

What if passers-by overload the bin or put prohibited materials in it?
You as the customer are in possession of the bin and have sole responsibility for what goes in it. Therefore, you will be responsible for any costs arising if anyone puts something in the bin that is not allowed or overloads it.
Bin placement
Where can a bin be placed?
You can always put a bin within your own property subject to space requirements. For our trucks to access your property, your driveway needs to be at least 3 metres wide, with no low hanging trees, power lines or the like, that may hinder the access and placement of the bin at time of delivery.
It is the customers’ responsibility to choose a suitable spot to place the bin/s. Beesafe Bins do not accept any responsibility for damage caused to services whether underground or overhead.
Can the bin be placed on the road or verge?
If you need to put the bin on the road or grass verge, different rules apply. It is the customers’ responsibility to get authorisation from the Auckland Super City authority if you wish to have the bin placed on the road or grass verge.
Waste type guide

Can I put asbestos in a bin?
Asbestos must NOT be put in any bin hired from Beesafe Bins or its partnership companies.
Asbestos can be found in many materials in houses built up until the late 1980s. If in doubt please consult an expert and do not put it in the bin.
If asbestos is found in a bin prior to removal from a customer’s property, the bin will not be removed until properly dealt with.
If asbestos is found in the bin after it has been tipped, high decontamination costs and possibly very heavy penalties will be imposed. The customer will be responsible for the payment of all costs immediately.
